“Take the future in your hands”
TYPE OF TRAINING ACTIVITY
Erasmus + programme. Key Action 101 and Key Action 104
CONTENT
Take the Future in your Hands is a new approach to the uncertain and changing future. We are now facing the most rapid change in the last 20 years more rapid than 300 years before. These enormous changes and megatrends are a big challenge to us: how to handle them and how to teach and process them at school with the students. We don’t know what the future will be but we can make a foresight about it. In future studies scientists produce different scenarios which work as basic material for decision makers. That is something we can also do! Today’s students will take the response in a few years and they must learn new skills and learn to open their minds and acquire the ability to see variable future images. In most cases the participants of this course will be pioneers in their schools and they are supposed to bring these future ideas in their schools.
The course Take the Future in your Hands is structured on three different modules:
A. An introduction to Futures Studies as a science, megatrends, weak signals and black swans;
B. Future’s skills and how to introduce them to students;
C. Most interesting and practical ways to handle the future at school.
EU is suggesting that schools should adopt the European Development Plan, which means a quality development plan for each school. It is one of the priorities of all policy makers and educational authorities in Europe. Our course aims at answering the questions of how to take the future approach in the European Development Plan.
The course provides the knowledge, methodology, insights and skills needed to achieve this goal. During the course the trainees will be introduced to methods which will enable them to organize the learning process and to enrich the development plan of the school.
